MSBA
in MIS
Rawls College of Business Administration
Texas Tech University
The MSBA in MIS at the Rawls College of Business Administration
at Texas Tech University is designed to prepare today’s
information technology professionals for tomorrow’s
IT challenges. The program emphasizes strategic issues in
the management of information technology. Course work focuses
on issues in global IT management, systems integration,
e-business, strategic decision making, communication and
leadership skills, and management of information systems
in organizations. Directed experience projects facilitate
real-world learning opportunities. Training and preparation
for project management and six sigma certifications are
included as part of the curriculum.
The program is offered in an executive format on weekends
over a two-year period, beginning in the fall and ending
in the summer two years later. Courses are offered at Texas
Tech in Lubbock (typically one weekend per month), with
class times scheduled to permit people to arrive Saturday
morning and leave late Sunday afternoon.
Admission to the program requires a bachelor’s degree
from an accredited institution and work experience as an
IT professional. The Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
is also required, but the applicant’s work experience and/or
undergraduate grade point average are very important
for admissions decisions.
Applications for the program are accepted for any
semester. If you have any questions or would like to
discuss your options, please contact Dr. Glenn J. Browne at emsba@ba.ttu.edu or by phone
at 806-742-2164 or 806-742-3192.
